Rainbow City is located at the south side of the
Qiantang River, Hangzhou. The project is on the opposite
side of the bank where the national tourist attraction
district is located. The site area of the project is
around 220,000m2 and a GFA around 470,000m2
is provided in the development. Natural environment
surrounds the site. The project, which targets middle to
high-income buyers, is the top priority pilot
residential project in Hangzhou for the 21st Century.
The
residential community is planned in a number of building
groups. High-rise plays a major role for the northern
part, although some medium-rise and multi story blocks
are located on the southern part. The central visual
corridor, which also acts as the axis of the site plan,
links up several regional communities. Moreover, all
other planning elements are connected through this axis.
The master
planning makes full use of the change of level between
the riverside and the basin in the south to form a high
level podium. On top of this podium are two groups of
high-rise buildings. The lower level of the podium is
used as carparks, clubhouse and commercial facilities.
In addition, school and kindergarten are located at the
southeast side of the site, which is more independent
from the main development.
Master layout
plan is divided into northern and southern portion.
Northern portion is built along the riverside with sea
view as the main theme while the southern portion is
expanded from the theme axis. Among each cluster is a
private courtyard. The master plan is designed in such a
way to facilitate hierarchical management and phased
development.
